No, KY doesn't require a sticker or plate for off-road vehicles (being as they're not allowed on the roads)......when I bought my quad, the county clerk told me i could register it for $6, but you don't get anything to put on the quad, you only get the registration paper (like you'd put in your regular truck)....but again, not required to register them in KY.....

I wonder how I would go about getting a title for a bike I bought in Kentucky a couple of years ago without anything but a hand written bill of sale. would be nice to be able to take it to wayne nf if I can get a sticker for it.

that's not the first time that there have been circumstances like your's. you will be able to get your sticker, it may just take a little longer. all that the stae cares about is just getting their tax money. you will be expected to tell them how much you paid. just be reasonable with them. todd

usually a few bikes out there.  last time i was there, probalby about 6 guys on bikes, about a dozen quads, and probalby 10 trucks or so.  so a little bit of everything was out there.

goin out there later today, but i got a feeling it will be all trucks with maybe a quad or two there.

as long as it ain't to muddy, you should be fine on the main trails.  their are some tight ones, but there are some you can take your jeep down with ease.

I've been to 491 offroad about 10 times in the past year or so and have always had a good time, especially for 30 min. South of Florence, KY. is not to far of a ride to get some satisfactory seat time ! It's 15.00 ride 4 the day and you can get a season pass for 45.00 which allows you to ride for 5.00 as much as you want(basically you go 3 times it pays 's itself off).  491 trails have been well groomed and there is enough trails to keep you satisfied for a few good hours, and run some good hot laps. 491 does allow all vehicles but only on certain days truck & buggys are allowed to ride, and is generally a good place to ride for novice to vet riders and is plenty safe to bring beginners(KIDS) on not so busy days but the most people I've seen there on any given weekend was about 30 riders for a given 400 + acres. If you don't live to far I would definitely hit it up for a day trip ! Also, it doesn't matter what state you live in just pay the 15.00 sign a waver 7 ride . The owner of the property name is TED, and has always been cool as hell to deal w/ and talk to (NO HASSELS) !

I headed over there this weekend. I got there around noon and there were a few families riding and that's it. We basically had the place to ourselves. It was pretty muddy due to the recent rains but the trails weren't all that bad. A few hours later a bunch of ORV's showed up with some quads. I ended up helping a guy on a quadracer out of the mud in one section.

Everyone I met was very friendly. There are just a handful of trails off the main trail and most aren't too tricky although there was one I did not attempt...maybe if it wasn't so muddy.

I want to go back there sometime soon.  When I was there last year there were quite a few trees across main trails.  Trying to get around them was a PITA.

There was only 1 trail with a tree partially across it when I was there but it was relatively easy to get by if you didn't mind rubbing against the pine branches. My friend and I are headed there on Sat.
